*Indicates that I have a post coming for them as part of my Devils Draft Prospect Series. Names that have links attached are posts that I’ve already written and you can go through the “Draft Prospect Series” tag on my blog for more.

** Indicates a player/prospect who suited up for the Devils for at least one game this past season.

I have a post introducing the Devils’ 2017 draft class. Nine of their 11 picks will be in attendance; Yegor Zaitsev and Matthew Hellickson are not attending. Seven of their nine picks from 2016 are attending (Mikhail Maltsev and Yegor Rykov are not), four of their five 2015 picks are attending (Brent Seney is not), three of six 2014 draft picks are attending as are three of five 2013 draft picks. Each year in parentheses is the year that the Devils selected that prospect.

Guay and Carpenter are both on a try-out basis; Guay plays in the QMJHL and Carpenter plays for Boston College so I’m excited to see both of them play. I’m also excited to see all of the 2017 draft picks play for the first time (other than old footage).

I’m glad Santini, Wood, and Quenneville are all still attending development camp even if it’s just to help the younger guys adjust. They should make the team out of training camp but we’ll see. I like seeing McLeod and Bastian together, wearing numbers that are right next to each other; I expect both of them to have good development and training camps.

Several of the players on this list are expected to play for the Binghamton Devils, New Jersey’s AHL affiliate, this upcoming season. Those include but are not limited to: Speers, Bastian, Blackwood, Jacobs, and White. You may see a few of those faces in New Jersey.

Expect some more updates within the next few days, maybe a post on who I think will have a breakout camp or who has the best chance of cracking the Devils roster come September (October?). And there will be a ton more coverage throughout next week (or at least, whatever I can get my hands on)!
